Making your research count: scientific metrics and scholarly profiles in databases

Join us on 08.02 at the TU Wien Library for an informative workshop!

As soon as your first paper gets published in a journal, various databases may algorithmically create a scholarly profile for you. How can you best curate these, and what role does the ORCID iD play in this context? What are other features of those research platforms? What do the various indicators (like Impact Factor, H-Index or Altmetrics) mean, and will such metrics be used in assessing your application for big grants or scientific career posts?

In this workshop, we will have a look at different cross-domain literature databases. There will be plenty of opportunities for asking questions and getting to know some of the most common metrics and profiles in a hands-on approach.

The workshop will be held in English.
