During our Erasmus+ mobility week “Nature-based Solutions”, we agreed to enter a strategic partnership with the Tallinn University of Technology Library

Microcredentials are proof of specific learning outcomes, documenting what learners know, understand or can do. Their purpose is to ensure that the assessment is based on clearly defined standards. Microcredentials are targeted not only at students but also at citizens.

The participants of the workshop discussed the present situation in Austria, Estonia and Germany and the challenges posed by the (technological) implementation of microcredentials on a national and international level. For implementation to be successful, learning scenarios must be defined where microcredentials can be useful, design requirements for the badge technology need to be discussed, and the partnerships needed for a successful programme must be identified. Another important aspect was the role microcredentials can play in sustainable education and the implementation of open science skills.

By hosting and organising this workshop, we emphasise our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
