Goldene ÖWAV-Ehrennadel für Matthias Zessner

Some of us are returning home from Wels after two days of intensive exchange at the biennial ÖWAV - Österreichischer Wasser- und Abfallwirtschaftsverband seminar on sewage sludge.
With the entry into force of the new ordinance introducing mandatory phosphorus recycling, the focus was on the experience gained so far in Germany and what can be learned to speed up the implementation process in Austria. Other important topics such as PFAS, contamination of agricultural soils, greenhouse gas emissions and logistical aspects of sludge transport were also discussed.
Our team made an important contribution to the programme of the seminar, with three talks held by Jörg Krampe, Vanessa Parravicini, Ottavia Zoboli and Matthias Zessner.
But the highlight was definitely the awarding of the “goldene ÖWAV-Ehrennadel” to Matthias, to thank him and honour him for his outstanding contribution to the ÖWAV activities. Congratulations!
