Céline Schmidt-Hamburger studied economics and sociology at the University of Leipzig. This was followed by a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Development at the University of Bremen, which she completed in 2022 in cooperation with the Chair of Urban District Planning at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with the thesis “Stress test pedestrian traffic: A study as part of the NRVP project "Cape Reviso" to measure the stress perception of pedestrians in Stuttgart”. In 2020, as an Erasmus student at the École nationale des travaux publics de l'État (ENTPE) in Vaulx-en-Velin near Lyon, she studied the topics of “Urban development and mobility” in depth. From April 2022 to October 2024, she worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Urban District Planning at KIT. There she was involved in the projects Cape Reviso and “Emotion perception for (e-)bicycle safety and mobility comfort - ESSEM”. Another focus of her work is Baukultur education. As a freelancer at the Bremen Center for Building Culture, she has been producing the podcast “Schall & Raum” on topics of architecture, Baukultur and urban development since 2020. She was also a lecturer at the School of Architecture at Bremen University of Applied Sciences, focusing on feminist perspectives on the built environment. Since October 2024, she has been working as a project assistant in the land.mobil.LAB project. In this mobility lab, cocreative solutions for future mobility in rural areas are tested.
