The participants are now visiting lectures of the module “Automotive Production and Logistics”, which are the key success factors of the automotive and supply industry in the CENTROPE Region. To learn the implementation of the theory learned at the lectures two days excursion took place at two OEMs and two suppliers in the CETROPE Region.

Firstly the participants visited PSA Peugeot Citroen Slovakia in Trnava. Mr. Svec, Chairman of Human Resource and Public Relation introduced the PSA Peugeot Citroen group and descried the history of the factory in Trnava. The Director of quality department explained the quality management system of PSA Peugeot Citroen group. The factory tour started from the welding shop through the assembly line and ended at the final quality check point.

At the Matador Industry in Vrable Mr. Jörgl, MBA welcome participants. Mr. Jörgl is a graduate of the third Professional MBA Automotive Industry program. During his study he changed to Matador Group and is responsible for the innovation and R&D of the Matador Group Holding. After the company presentation he guided the participants through the press and welding shop. At the discussion round participants had chances to discuss with chairman of the production and other managers about the OEM and Supplier relationship for the new generation of the cars.

On the second day the excursions in Hungary are continued. Audi Hungaria in Györ is producing Audi TT Coupe, TT Roadster & Audi A3 as well as Otto- and Diesel-engines. Furthermore this factory is expanding its production volumes. After the company presentation participants visited the production line of V6 TDI motors and the final assembly line of AUDI TT. After the factory tour the logistic manager described the logistics procedure in more detail.

SMR (Samvardhana Motherson Reflectec ) Hungary was established in Mosonszolnok under the name of SAPU Bt. in 1993 as a major automotive player to manufacture products, using imported materials and components, primarily for export to the largest European vehicle manufacturers. The company produces exterior mirrors, interior mirrors and a range of small lamps for the integration into mirrors for many car manufacturers across Europe at its existing plants in Mosonszolnok and Mosonmagyaróvár. Their largest customers are Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Opel, Suzuki, Toyota, Fiat and Hyundai/Kia. They have got around 25% of the global market share in the production of exterior mirrors for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and trucks and they are now developing a camera based sensing technology for cars.

Managing Director, Mr. Pál-Levente Tibori who is responsible for two production facilities, a logistic center and a test labour in Hungary as well as participant of the 5th Professional MBA Automotive Industry, welcomed guests, introduced the company and also described the development and quality processes of a mirror with OEM’s. He guided the groups personally through the shop floor of Mosonmagyaróvár plant and explained detailed the efforts done by the management to be more and more successful.

It was a very good opportunity to learn and see the actual situation of the component supplier and OEMs in CENTROPE Region.
