Although e-vehicles have been available for years, the number of them in use is small compared to the number of combustion engine vehicles. The theme of the COMPETT project is to reduce CO2 emissions by increasing the use of e-vehicles through better knowledge of barriers to use and potentials of e-vehicles, including noise reduction. Fully electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, fuel cell vehicles, and single-track e-vehicles serve different functions and most likely have different usage barriers and potentials.

The Research Unit of Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering of the Institute of Transportation of the TU Wien supports the Austrian Energy Agency within the framework of a work contract in the processing of the international research project COMPETT.
