Last year, the amendment to the UG also changed §109.
This now determines that the maximum duration of employment (from the doctorate onwards) in fixed-term employment relationships at a university is limited to 8 years.
This regulation puts us and many colleagues at the TU Vienna in distress. For this reason, the initiative Unterbau TU Wien was founded to bring together affected scientists and to campaign for a change in the situation. The time for this is favorable,
as there are already such initiatives at other universities, especially at the University of Vienna (see e.g. https://nuwiss.at and the media reports of the last weeks).

The initiative at the TU Vienna is just in the process of being established. The ZUG list has already stated in its positions for the works council election 2020 that it will stand up for perspectives for young employees! For this reason, it is a matter of course for us to support the initiatives and networks to strengthen the “substructure”!
