There are news. Already today, the TU Vienna management has adapted the FAQ and corrected the points we criticised.
The note “What if employees refuse to take leave and/or work from home during the period of the operational restrictions?”, which we criticised, has been changed – there is no longer any mention of refusal. The reference is now: What applies to employees who are not able to work in the home office?
The note “Those employees who want to come to the TUW to work despite operational restrictions have to put up with unheated, unguarded and uncleaned rooms” has been completely deleted. Absolutely correct, because in our view the labour law regulations would not have been observed. Instead, employees who cannot take up the proposed offer now have the option of paid leave of absence from duty. That’s also applicable to colleagues who don’t use the offer.
There was also a clarification on how to get the additional 2 days of leave. These are obtained by taking home office/time off/holiday during the entire period of the operational restriction (i.e. from 17.12.2022 to 9.1.2023), whereby combinations are possible.
Employees who have not concluded a home office agreement do not have to do so, but can agree the home office days with their supervisor and document them accordingly. A form is available for this purpose.

Nevertheless, we ask all colleagues to support the rectorate of the TU Vienna in implementing the measures. The members of the ZUG list will also take time off or leave or go to the home office as far as possible. Unity is important in order to successfully push through the demand for an adequate budget at the Ministry.
We will continue to stand up for you as an employee of the TU Vienna. If you have any questions, you can still contact us at any time.
