The term exhaust emissions test summarizes the measurement and analysis of motor vehicles on an air-conditioned four-wheel chassis dynamometer.
Within this test selected exhaust emissions (mostly CO2, CO, HC, NOX, PN und PM) can be detected and the fuel consumption is determined. In the case of electrified vehicles, the electrical energy consumption can also be determined and an energy balance can be generated.
Exhaust emission tests are offered for two wheelers, three wheelers, passenger cars and light duty vehicles. In this connection, a measurement is possible analogous to the respectively valid law or according to individual customer requirements.
The temperature of the chassis dynamometer can be adjusted between -35 and +50 ° C to assess the influence of ambient temperature on the emission behaviour. Effects of sun exposure on the energy needs of the interior air conditioning are examined by a sun simulation using IR emitters.
A PEMS is available for real-world exhaust emission measurements. The measured exhaust gas components include carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and the particle number (CO2, CO, HC, NOX und PN).

The determination of the octane rating (RON and MON) and the cetane number
The determination of the octane rating and the cetane number (engine fuel test) is carried out using CFR test engines.
For petrol, the MON determination is carried out according to ASTM D2700 (EN ISO 5163), the RON determination according to ASTM D2699 (EN ISO 5164).
For alcohols and mixed alcohol fuels, the octane rating is determined according to DIN 51756 Part 7.
For diesel fuels, the CN-determination is carried out according to ASTM D613 (EN ISO 5165).
