Our lab is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our interdisciplinary team at the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Next-generation Wood-based Biocomposites (WoodComp3D), hosted at TU Wien. We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong background in chemical engineering or technical chemistry, specifically in the area of wood chemistry and biocomposites.
Position Details:
- Start Date: October 2024
- Duration: 2 years (with the possibility of extension)
- Location: Vienna, Austria
- Salary: €4,752.30/month (gross, 14 times per year)
As part of our diverse, international team, the postdoc will engage in cutting-edge research aimed at developing sustainable, high-performance wood-based biocomposites. This work will involve the entire process chain, from fiber production using various pulping methods, through the combination of these fibers with lignin and extractives, including enhancing their reactivity, to the final production of biocomposites using techniques such as hot-compression molding, and will include both hands-on research and mentoring of PhD students.
Requirements:
- Completed or near-completion of a PhD in chemical engineering or technical chemistry.
- Experience in fiber/lignin/wood chemistry.
- Proficiency in English (C1 level).
