The simlab team shows professional competences within the disciplines of spatial planning, architecture and informatics. Within the planning disciplines, the simlab strengths lie in visual and data-based analyses as well as spatial designs. The core emphases of these analyses include the development of supply infrastructures along corridors as well as urban settlement structures. Thus, the focus of interest is inward development.
The discipline mix ensures spatial observation on different scale levels. These levels range from very large-scale considerations, such as the analysis of macro-regions or regions, to the consideration of cities, neighbourhoods or even buildings.
The tools and applications developed in simlab, not only serve as communication and decision-making tools in transnational and interdisciplinary research projects, but also enable non-professionals to understand planning challenges and related contents more easily via visual components.
