Vera Bühlmann
Vera Bühlmann is a Swiss writer and professor for Architecture Theory at the TechnicalUniversity Vienna, where she directs the Research Unit Architecture Theory and Philosophyof Technics ATTP since 2016. Her doctoral degree is in philosophy of technics/media studies from Basel University (2009) and her master’s degree in English Literature and Language, as well as Philosophy, from Zurich University (2002). Together with Ludger Hovestadt (ETH Zurich) she has been co-editing the Applied Virtuality book series since 2012 (Birkhäuser). Since 2022 she is also founding member and co-director of the School of Materialist Research (Tempe AZ, Vienna, Eindhoven, Skopje), an inter-university education and research grassroots platform that address the materialisms running through contemporary science, philosophy, art, mathematics, design, architecture, and politics, and since 2023 she acts as a founding member and co-director of the Meteora Academy Buti in Tuscany, Italy, an international and inter-institutional place dedicated to the arts, natural philosophy and digital architectonics.
